May Agriculture & Natural Resources Program

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture & Natural Resources Program for May, 2013. This program is being offered by Barton Wilder, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent. The program will be held at the Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

Nuisance Wildlife Workshop – May 16, 6 p.m.

Coyotes and wild hogs are becoming an increasing problem in both rural and suburban communities.  Coyotes are a major predator for calves, goats and sheep.  Wild hogs are an invasive species that cause serious harm to both the environment and agriculture production. 

This workshop will cover management techniques for these animals to help ranchers and homeowners reduce their property damage from these destructive wildlife.
