Mental Health and Wellness Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Department of Community Support Services invites residents to attend the “Mental Health and Wellness Workshop; a Community Workshop on Mental Health.” The workshop is Wednesday September 24, 2014, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr Multi-Purpose Center (1028 NE 14th Street, Gainesville).

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together citizens of Alachua County, along with law enforcement, the Alachua County School Board, faith communities, the judicial system, social services agencies, and veteran services to discuss mental illness in the community.

Local experts will discuss the impact of mental illness on individuals, families and society. Mental health providers and social services agencies will discuss available services.

The workshop is sponsored by the Alachua County Department of Community Support Services, Community Stabilization Program (championed by Commissioner Robert “Hutch” Hutchinson).
