Alachua County, with assistance from the Florida Communities Trust, acquired the +/376 acre Turkey Creek Hammock Preserve, located east of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park and north of NW 93rd Avenue. The property was acquired to protect, preserve and enhance the unique natural and cultural resources found there, and to provide an enjoyable and educational passive recreational experience.  A management plan is being developed for the property, and we are seeking citizen input.

For those who wish to provide comment, but can't come to the meeting, written comments may be submitted by mail (Alachua County Environmental Protection Department, Land Conservation Program / 408 W. University Avenue, Suite 106 / Gainesville, FL 32601) or email (smvardaman@alachuacounty.us) by November 18, 2011.
