ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Administrative Services Department is pleased to announce that its Purchasing Division has been awarded the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement from the National Procurement Institute Inc. This marks the County's fifth consecutive year of receiving the award.
In 1995, the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI) established a program designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) is awarded annually. This award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.
"The committee congratulates Alachua County on the success of its Purchasing Division," said Christine Green, C.P.M. the 2014 AEP Committee Chair for NPI.
In speaking of the AEP award Purchasing Manager Larry Sapp said, "I want to acknowledge the entire staff of our Purchasing Division for making this possible. Alachua County is very fortunate to have these dedicated public servants working hard to keep our purchasing systems functioning smoothly."
