2016 ADA Celebration

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - In celebration of July as Americans with Disabilities Month, the Alachua County and City of Gainesville Equal Opportunity Offices, the Center for Independent Living, MV Transportation, Inc. and the Alachua County Council of the Blind are hosting the ADA Celebration 2016. The event will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center, (5701 N.W. 34th Blvd, Gainesville). The event is free and open to the public.

Participants will learn about the obligations of public entities and private businesses to ensure that their buildings, programs, and services are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and hear from advocacy/support groups for caregivers. Local businesses that promote disability-friendly customer service will be recognized at the event.
