Upcoming Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training and Certification Program

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department (ACEPD) is offering the Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training and Certification Program on May 23, and 24, 2017, at the Waccasassa Forestry Center’s District Office (5353 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville). The training is free, but participants must register by May 20.

Participants learn why it is important to prevent construction site sedimentation from polluting local water bodies and become familiar with techniques to minimize erosion.

This certification program was developed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and is team taught by numerous professionals. This class is co-sponsored by the Gainesville Clean Water Partnership.

Qualifying participants can earn eight Continuing Education Units for their contractor’s license and/or eight Professional Development Hours for their Florida Professional Engineer’s license.
