Core Benefits Overview

Employees of Alachua County Board and Constitutional Officers and the Alachua County Library District are eligible for a wide array of benefits. Alachua County includes employees of the Board of County Commissioners, Sheriff's Office, Property Appraiser's Office, Tax Collector's Office, Supervisor of Elections and the Clerk of the Court's Office. Some Constitutional Offices offers benefit programs which are not included in this information. Employees of the Constitutional Offices should speak with their benefits coordinator for information concerning supplemental programs.

Employees will attend a detailed benefit's orientation within the first week of employment. Employee eligibility for health insurance, life insurance and flexible spending account participation is the 1st of the month, following one month of employment with Alachua County. Employees are encouraged to read this information in order to make an informed choice based on specific individual and family benefit needs. The descriptions provided in this document are meant as a summary of the plans and rates offered, please refer to your contract for complete plan information.
