9-11-18 Commission Regular Meeting and Public Hearing – Final Non-Ad Valorem Rates and the FY19 Millage Rates and Budget

The Alachua County Commission will conduct their Regular Meeting, and their Regular Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. The Regular Meeting begins at 9 a.m., and the Public Hearing begins at 5 p.m. Both meetings are in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209), located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

At the Public Hearing, the Commission will set the Final Non-Ad Valorem Assessment Rates, Final Rates for the Fire Services Non-Ad Valorem Assessment, Final Rates for the Solid Waste Non-Ad Valorem Assessment, Final Rate for the Stormwater Non-Ad Valorem Assessment, and the FY19 Proposed Millage Rates and Tentative Budget.

Items of interest at the Regular Meeting:

  • Accept a plaque from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for participation in the Community Rating System and achieving Class 5 rating 
  • Approve Appointment to the Arts Council of Alachua County (ACAC) 
  • Presentation regarding the proposed IP Policy 
  • County Attorney's Opinion on the removal of signs from the right-of-way 
  • Tree Planting Program operating procedure
