Animal Services "Meow BowWow Luau!" Pet Adoption Event

Alachua County Animal Services is hosting “Meow BowWow Luau!”, a half-price pet adoption event on Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Animal Services Headquarters (3400 N.E. 53rd Ave, Gainesville). Adoption fees for the event are $10 for a cat and $20 for a dog. Light refreshments will be served.

“This event is a fun way to find forever homes for a large number of pets, and you won’t want to miss this volcanic fun,” said Alachua County Animal Services Shelter Supervisor Jane Grantman. “Every pet adopted opens up a space in the shelter. So when you adopt, you save two lives – the one you adopt and the one needing shelter.”

Pet adopters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals are current on rabies shots and pet licenses. All dogs and cats available for adoption are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before leaving Animal Services.
