November Environmental Horticulture Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Extension Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture Program for November 2010. This program is offered by Wendy Wilber, Environmental Horticulture Agent along with Art Shriver of SEM Nursery.

Growing Shitake and Oyster Mushrooms – November 13, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Extension Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

Learn the basics of shitake mushroom and oyster mushroom growing for the home garden. Shitake mushrooms are grown on oak logs. Attendees will learn how to prepare and inoculate the logs for shitake mushroom production.
