The Great American Cleanup is This Saturday

ALACHUA COUNTY- Alachua County Waste Alternatives and the Waste Watcher invite residents to participate in the Great American Cleanup, on Saturday, March 19, 2011.  Cleanup supplies can be picked up at Westside Park (1001 NW 34th St., Gainesville) beginning at 8 a.m. As part of the cleanup event, there will be an environmental fair and thank-you party at Westside Park from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for cleanup participants. The environmental fair will include games and information for everyone.

The Alachua County Great American Cleanup event is organized by Keep Alachua County Beautiful, and is part of a national campaign organized by Keep America Beautiful. Any cleanup projects completed from March 1 through May 31, 2011 will count towards the Great American Cleanup campaign.
