Rodney Long to Meet at White House

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Commissioner Rodney J. Long has been invited to represent the National Association of Counties (NACo) at a White House County Officials Meeting with President Barack Obama and several of his cabinet officials on May 3, 2011.

Likely topics of the meeting will include infrastructure, sustainable communities, health reform implementation, and Medicaid.

Commissioner Long received the official invitation from the White House on Friday, April 22, 2011.

In speaking to the citizens of Alachua County, Commissioner Long said of the meeting, "As your County Commissioner, it's been an honor to represent you in the Florida Association of Counties as a two term president and member of the Executive Committee. In addition, I am also honored to represent you at NACo, as a part of its Leadership Team serving as Chairman of the Economic Development Sub-committee, member of the both the Audit and Finance Committee, member of the Credentials Committee and serving on the NACo Board of Directors."
