National HIV Testing Day

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – June 27, 2011 is National HIV Testing Day.  The Alachua County Health Department (ACHD) encourages residents to take the test and take control of their health.  It is an opportunity for everyone in the community to find out their HIV status.  Every nine and a half minutes someone in the United States is infected with HIV.  Thirty years after The Center for Disease Control reported the first AIDS cases in the United States the epidemic continues. 

ACHD in support of this important health initiative will be providing free screenings on June 27, 2011 at the following locations:

Pride Center
3131 NW 13 St.
Gainesville, FL
Suite 61
Free HIV rapid and STD testing 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Alachua County Health Department
224 SE 24 St.
Gainesville, FL
Free HIV rapid test by appointment.  Call 352-334-7960 to make an appointment.
