Visit Gainesville Photo Contest

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Visit Gainesville (The Gainesville/Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau) is pleased to announce its first annual Visit Gainesville Photo Contest.  Visit Gainesville is looking for photos that capture the essence of Gainesville and Alachua County and that embody the slogan, “Where Nature and Culture Meet.”  The winning photo will be eligible for the cover of the upcoming Visit Gainesville Visitors Guide.  The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

 

The top three entrants will win the following prizes:

1st prize - $250

2nd prize - $150

3rd prize - $50

 

(Prize money paid through the tourism tax on hotel rooms)

 

Visit Gainesville seeks creative, unaltered vacation, recreation, and tourism images with original color.   Examples include memories with friends and family, area attractions and hotels, restaurants, parks, cultural, and historic sites. 


Contest details:

 

·         Entry is free

·         Residents and visitors may enter 

·         Amateur and professional photographers welcome

·         Five photos per entrant

·         Digital format only (300 dpi – 4 to 8 megabytes)

·         Subject matter that is available to visitors and open to the public
