ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Facilities Management Division is featured in the January/February 2012 edition of Facilities Management Journal. This premier journal is written for professionals who are concerned with developing and maintaining productive workplaces.
The article focuses on the County's energy conservation measures. This includes: the County's new fire stations, energy conservation programs, lowering greenhouse gases production, water reduction systems, and efforts to educate others. The article discusses how Alachua County is exploring all options to conserve energy and water, and reduce its carbon footprint.
Facilities Management Director Charlie Jackson was quoted in the article saying, "Building green makes good business sense." He continued, "It reduces operating cost over the life of the building and ultimately provides the County with another high-performing and sustainable building."
