ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - On October 15, 2012, the Gainesville Area Innovation Network (GAIN) will host the “Investor Business Pitch ShootOut” at the Harn Museum of Art (SW 34th Street and Hull Road, Gainesville), from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event exposes early-stage entrepreneurs to investors and community leaders.
The ShootOut event begins with a field of 16 presenters, which is narrowed to a field of four, and the finalists will present to the audience and panel of judges. Cash prizes, free services, and the title of “Top Gun Company for 2012” will be awarded.
The event will also have 3 educational panels including: Your Horse is Saddled But Where Are You Headed?, How to Get Money Without Robbing a Bank or Rustling Cattle, and Protect Your Grubstake in the New Patent Landscape.
Businesses wishing to participate in the event must apply by October 1, 2012. There is a $25.00 application fee. People wanting to attend the event can purchase tickets for $55.00 ($45.00 for GAIN members, $25.00 for students). The ticket includes dinner, which follows the ShootOut event.
Alachua County Economic Development Coordinator, Edgar Campa-Palafox said, “The ShootOut is a must attend event for startup companies, entrepreneurs and investors in the North Central Florida region.”
