October Environmental Horticulture Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Extension Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture Programs for October, 2012. These programs are being offered by Wendy Wilber, Environmental Horticulture Agent at the Extension Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

Groundcovers & Turf Alternatives – October 3, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This class focuses on selecting the appropriate ground cover for your shady or sunny landscape.

Herbs – October 10, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Learn which herbs do best in North Central Florida and how to grow them.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™-Getting Started – October 17, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This class teaches how to have a low maintenance landscape. Learn how to use less water, fertilizer and do less work to have a beautiful yard.

Trees & Palms – October 24, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Trees and palms are what make Alachua County a beautiful place to live. Learn which tress will grow best in your Florida-Friendly Landscape™.

There is no charge for any of these programs. Space is limited so pre-registration is recommended by calling 352-337-6209.
