Blues Concert to Benefit the Friends of the Alachua County Crisis Center

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The North Central Florida Blues Society will hold a benefit concert, “Everybody Gets the Blues,” on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Dirty Martini Bar (2441 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville). The proceeds support the Friends of the Alachua County Crisis Center. Admission is $10.

The bands that will participate include:

·        Little Mike & the Tornadoes

·        The Pete Karnes Blues Band

·        The 6th Street Rhythm & Blues Review

·        Big Time Juke & the Joints

·        The Butch Wise Band

·        The R. Mutt Blues Band

·        Root Redemption

The headliners, Little Mike and Pete Karnes, are local blues singers and harmonica players that have national profiles, having played with numerous Blues legends.

The Alachua County Crisis Center provides crisis and suicide intervention services to all residents of Alachua County including a 24 hour telephone Crisis Line, Crisis Counseling and Short Term Psychotherapy, Survivors of Suicide Support Services, and Community Trauma Response. The mission of Friends of the Crisis Center is to bolster the programs of the Alachua County Crisis Center.

The North Central Florida Blues Society is a not-for-profit organization organized to preserve, cultivate, nurture, and promote the blues in the Gainesville area.
