September Commercial Horticulture Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture Programs for September, 2014. These programs are being offered by Aparna Gazula, Commercial Horticulture Agent, at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

Integrated Pest Management Update – September 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This statewide video conference is designed to provide training in Pest Management Updates for anyone working in the lawn, landscape, pest control, or municipal grounds areas.

FNGLA and FDACS Pesticide Continuing Education Units will be awarded.

Cost to attend this class is $20.00 (resource materials and lunch is included).

Limited Lawn & Ornamental License Training – September 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This training is for government or private employees applying pesticides to lawn and landscapes.  This is for non-commercial certification; this certificate does not allow someone to run a pest control and/or landscaping business.

Up to 6 CEU’s will be awarded.  Exams will be administered at the end of the training.

Cost to attend this training is $25.00 (materials & lunch is included).
