ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Animal Services (ACAS) is teaming up with the Alachua County Library District to help spread the word about lost pets and animals available for adoption.  Two computer kiosks have been installed at the Downtown and Millhopper library branches. The  kiosks connect users directly to petharbor.com, which is the website that ACAS uses to list and advertise lost and adoptable pets.  Library patrons will be able to browse the listings, search for their lost pet, research field services offered, as well as review the ACAS adoption and reclaim policies free of charge.  As a member of the local Maddie's Pet Rescue partnership, one of ACAS top priorities is the commitment to finding homes for as many animals in the shelter as possible.

"In our mission to protect pets and people, we believe we must do everything in our power to help people find their lost pets as well as allowing people to see the animals that we have available for adoption,"  Flagler explained of the decision.  "The kiosks aid in that mission by making our services more available to the community."

Anyone interested in adopting a pet they see while using the kiosks should contact ACAS or come to the shelter at 3400 NE 53rd Avenue and browse the available pets in person.

For more information about the Animal Services kiosks or pet adoptions, please call the shelter at 352-264-6870.
