ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The staff of the Alachua County Tax Collector's Office is proud to recognize the efforts of the United States military. Saturday, May 17, 2008, is Armed Forces Day. On Friday the 16th, the Tax Collector's office employees will be honoring the military by wearing tee shirts from the different branches of service, decorating their offices, and promoting military and patriotic license tags.
In speaking of Armed Forces Day Fraser said, "Many of us have family members or loved ones in the military, even if they are not fighting on the front to maintain our nation's freedom and security, their efforts play a very important role in keeping America the land of the free and the home of the brave." He continued saying, "This is our small way of saying thank you to our service men and women."
