Hurricane Preparedness Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Hurricane Season began June 1, 2008. Although the tropics have been quiet to this point, Alachua County Emergency Management would like to remind residents that now is the time to prepare for the next disaster. To help the public prepare, Emergency Management will be presenting hurricane readiness tips at the High Springs branch of the Alachua County Library District. The presentation will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. The library is located at 135 N.W. 1st Ave. in High Springs.
 
Topics to be discussed include:
  • What is Emergency Management?
  • The Role of the Emergency Operation Center
  • Alachua County Hurricane History
  • Hurricane Predications
  • Preparations for Individuals, Families and Businesses
