Blood Drive and Pet Adoption Event

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Animal Services, along with Life South Community Blood Centers, are offering free pet adoptions to those donating blood on Saturday, February 13, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Animal Services Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville).  Blood donors will receive a "heart," which is good for a waived adoption fee on any pet at Alachua County Animal Services. These hearts are transferrable and do not expire.

Blood donors must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more, and show ID.

Pet adopters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals are current on rabies vaccinations and licenses. All dogs and cats available for adoption are examined, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered prior to leaving Animal Services.
