ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct two Special Meetings on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. The meetings begin at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (room 209), located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

The 10 a.m. meeting agenda includes:

1. FY17 Budget discussion - Performance Management Policy
2. Review the County's budget management, debt management, financial management, and public purpose policies to remain in effect and to assist with the FY17 Budget creation
3. FY17 Budget discussion - MSBU Program policy infrastructure on public property
4. FY17 Budget discussion - Capital Improvement Program policy
5. FY17 Budget discussion - Utilities Savings Reinvestment policy
6. Resolution to establish Debt Service Fund for Public Improvement Revenue Refunding Note, series 2016
7. Follow-up discussion on solid waste disposal options

The 1:30 p.m. meeting agenda includes:

1. Proposed HPSII phosphate mine, New River Basin, Bradford and Union Counties
2. Rural Services Unit Program presentation by Alachua County Sheriff Sadie Darnell
3. Corizon presentation
4. Cogon Grass presentation
5. Discussion on distribution of Local Option Gas Taxes renewal

The public is invited to attend the meetings. They will be available to view live on Cox Channel 12 or the County's Video on Demand website.

Free parking is available for citizens attending these meetings. Please park in the S.W. Parking Garage (220 S.E. 2nd Ave, Gainesville) and bring your parking stub to the Alachua County Manager's Office, located on the 2nd floor of the County Administration Building, to receive a chaser validation ticket.
