ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (room 209) on the second floor of the County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

Items for the Planning Commission

CPA-03-17 (Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment & Text Amendment) – This is a request by eda, inc., agent, for WWC Real Estate, LLC, owner, for a small-scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change the land use designation on approximately 7.23 acres from Mixed-Use Residential Medium Density (4-8 dwelling units/acre) to Institutional and a text amendment to Future Land Use Element Policy 2.2.6(a) of the Comprehensive Plan. The site is in the PD (Planned Development) zoning district. It is located within the Tower Road/24th Avenue Activity Center at 7207 S.W. 24th Ave. This request, if approved, will change the land use for an existing assisted living/nursing facility to Institutional and permit the expansion of this facility. 2An associated zoning request (ZOM-02-17) will also be heard at this meeting in conjunction with the Comprehensive plan amendment.  For more information, contact the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 352-374-5249 or Mehdi Benkhatar at mbenkhatar@alachuacounty.us.

ZOM-02-17 (Planned Development Major Amendment) – This is a request by eda, inc., agent, for WWC Real Estate, LLC, owner, for a an amendment to the Bellamay PD (Planned Development) by allowing an increase in the permitted institutional square footage within “Parcel 2.” The site has a future land use designation of Mixed-Use Residential Medium Density (4-8 dwelling units/acre) and is in the PD (Planned Development) zoning district. The site is approximately 7.23 acres and is located within the Tower Road/24th Avenue Activity Center at 7207 S.W. 24th Ave. This request would amend the planned development to allow the expansion of an existing assisted living/nursing facility on the site. This request is being heard in conjunction with CPA-03-17, a small scale Comprehensive Plan amendment.
