The
Engineering and Operations Division is made up of the Offices of
Engineering, Construction Inspections, Real Property, Survey, and
Development Review and Road & Bridge as well the Pavement Management
Program and Work Management Program.
The Work Management Program is a computerized software program that
tracks all costs associated with the production of work including labor,
equipment and material expenditures. The Work Management System also
allows for the tracking of all citizen complaints and of road problems
through resolution and completion.
The Pavement Management Program is a computerized software program
that tracks the material condition of the roadways for the purpose of
maintaining the existing paved road system in a safe and serviceable
condition. All county paved roads are inspected on a periodic basis by
trained personnel for their material condition and serviceability in
accordance with an industry standard called A Present Serviceability
Index or PSI rating.
The pavement management software system analyzes the inspection data, computes the PSI rating, recommends a maintenance and repair strategy and computes an estimated cost to repair the road.
