Coalition Against Sexual ViolenceAlachua County, FL - The Alachua County Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center is working to help victims navigate the aftermath of sexual violence. To help inform citizens of this valuable service, The Alachua County Communications Department has produced a video highlighting their work.

The Alachua County Coalition Against Sexual Violence, which consists of the Victims Services & Rape Crisis Center, law enforcement, the State Attorney's office, the medical community, and other community and advocacy groups, is constantly working to ensure that when a victim comes forward, they are treated with respect and dignity.

For more information about the many services offered to victims of sexual violence, visit  Alachua County Victim Services or call their 24/7 helpline at 352-264-6760.

These agencies have specifically trained staff to help guide victims through the process and remind them that they are not alone.

"Victims face many barriers when seeking help after a sexual assault, and often fear being blamed or not being believed at all," said Rape Crisis Center Program Manager Jessie Lazarchik, the Coalition Chair. "We want victims in our community to know that if you choose to come forward, our team pledges to respond with competence and compassion."

To learn more, call Jessie Lazarchik at 352-264-6767.

The video can be viewed on Alachua County's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on Channel 12.
