RFA 25-416 Small Grant Initiative

  • Commission Seeks Proposals for Small Grant Initiative Funding

The Alachua County Commission is seeking proposals from non-governmental, grassroots organizations and emerging small businesses, defined as those with 25 or fewer permanent, full-time employees and have a net worth not exceeding $1,000,000.00. The purpose of the Small Grant Initiative (SGI) is to support the development and growth of organizations that exist to benefit Alachua County residents living at or below 150% Federal Poverty Level.
These funds are intended for one-time capacity building or infrastructure improvements that impact one of the following priority areas: safe affordable housing, adequate food, quality healthcare, or quality childcare and education. The maximum award limit for an individual proposal is $15,000.00. Organizations are limited to one application each.
Interested parties may access the OpenGov site by visiting the Small Grant Initiative (SGI) link beginning July 3, 2024, at 10 a.m.
All FY 25-26 SGI applications must be completed and submitted electronically via OpenGov by July 31, 2024, at 2 p.m.
No late proposals will be accepted, and proposals that do not meet the grant criteria will be rejected. Application rules and instructions, including the complete Request for Applications (RFA) document, are available on the site, and interested vendors are encouraged to read all related documents prior to beginning an application.
The grant period is from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, subject to appropriation by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.
An optional information session will be held for interested agencies. The session will cover the application process, using the application site, and tips for a successful proposal.
There is a voluntary pre-application meeting on July 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. in Alachua County Community Support Services Conference Room A (218 SE 24 Street, Gainesville).
