Pursuant to Administrative Order #AOSC15-18 of the Supreme Court of Florida, electronic access to Alachua County Court Records will be limited to the information which is exempt from the restrictions identified in the Administrative Order.


NOTICE

Pursuant to law, as of October 1, 2002, any person preparing or filing a document for recordation in the official records may not include a social security number in such document, unless required by law.

Any person has the right to request the Clerk of the Court/County Recorder to remove, from an image or copy of an official record placed on the Internet Website used by the Clerk of Court to display public records, any social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number contained in that official record. Such request must be in writing and delivered by mail, facsimile, electronic transmission or in person to the County Recorder. The request must specify the identification page number that contains the social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number to be redacted. No fee will be charged for the redaction of a social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number pursuant to such a request.

Florida law requires that images and copies of recorded documents remain on file and available to the public in the Office of the Clerk/County County Recorder.

NOTICE

If a social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number is included in a court file, the holder of the number or the holder’s attorney or legal guardian has the right to request the Clerk of Court to redact the number from the court file. Such request must be in writing and delivered by mail, facsimile, electronic transmission or in person to the Clerk of Court. The request must specify the case name, case number, document heading and page number that contains the social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number to be redacted. No fee will be charged for the redaction of a social security number, or complete bank account, debit, charge or credit card number pursuant to such a request.

NOTICE

Per FS 28.2221, any affected party has the right to request removal or protection of an image or copy of a public record, including an official record, that is publicly available on the Clerk’s internet website for general public display, if that image or copy is of a:

  1. Military discharge
  2. An unredacted Death Certificate
  3. Court file, record, or paper relating to matters or cases governed by the Florida Rules of Family Law, the Florida Rules of Juvenile Procedure, or the Florida Probate Rules.


Such request must be made in writing and delivered by mail, facsimile, or electronic transmission, or delivered in person to the clerk of the court. The request must identify the document identification page number of the document to be removed. No fee will be charged for the removal of a document pursuant to such request.

Florida law requires that images and copies of the above listed documents remain on file and available to the public in the Office of the Clerk/ County Recorder.
