​​This page is intended to provide information regarding Clerk offered services and resources to assist individuals who are proceeding with a court matter without an attorney. 

TurboCourt​

The Alachua County Clerk offers easy to use interactive forms through TurboCourt. TurboCourt works by asking a series of easy to follow questions before preparing the appropriate paperwork. TurboCourt is available for Small Claims, Landlord Tenant Disputes, Family Law, and Domestic Violence Protection matters.  

TurboCourt makes the task of filling out forms easier to understand and helps you get it right the first time. There is a $10 fee to use TurboCourt to complete forms for Small Claims, Landlord Tenant Disputes and Family Law cases. There are no fees when using TurboCourt forms for domestic violence injunction petitions.

TurboCourt gives you the option to file the forms electronically or to print the forms and mail or bring them to the Clerk’s Office. 

When using TurboCourt and completing the process by electronic filing, your filing fees will be collected online through TurboCourt. For mailed or in-person filings, payment can be made by check or money order.

Eighth Circuit Self-Help Program

Eighth Circuit Self-Help Program

The Eighth Judicial Circuit has a Self-Help Program located on the Fourth Floor of the Eighth Judicial Circuit’s Civil and Family Law Justice Center, 201 E University Ave, Gainesville Florida. Self-Help Program staff will explain procedures; additional court requirements; review the file before scheduling a court event to insure the correct forms were filed; and help with setting a hearing with the Judge.

Small Claims

Small Claims

Small Claims cases can be filed through TurboCourt. Small Claims cases are filed when a person or business needs the court to make a decision regarding monetary civil disputes for damages or replevin claims not exceeding $8,000.

Landlord Tenant

Landlord Tenant

Landlord tenant cases can be filed through TurboCourt. Forms and packets are also available both online and at the Clerk’s office. Residential evictions are governed by chapter 83, Florida Statutes.

Family

Family

Dissolution of Marriagee cases can be filed through TurboCourt. Forms and packets are also available both online and at the Clerk’s office.

Other family law case types are: Paternity, Name Change, Child Support, and Adoption. Domestic Violence information is also considered a Family case type, but is addressed separately.

Appeals

Appeals

An appeal is a request for a higher court to review a lower court’s decision. A notice of appeal must be filed within 30 days of the lower court’s decision.
