Annual Fall Blanket Drive

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Coalition for the Homeless and Hungry (ACCHH) is beginning its Annual Fall Blanket Drive.  ACCHH estimates that approximately 400 persons in Gainesville lack adequate shelter on any given night.  ACCHH is asking citizens to donate clean, used blankets, or new blankets, to help the homeless population stay warm.  Donations may be taken to the following locations: 

  • Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 100 NE 1st St., Mon. thru Fri., 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Fire of God Ministries, 1414 NE 23rd Ave., Mon. thru Fri., 8:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.
  • Congregation B'Nai Israel (east side entrance), 3830 NW 16th Blvd, Mon. thru Fri., 9:00   a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sun. 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • United Way of North Central Florida, 6031 NW 1st Place (south on NW 62nd St. next to Oaks Mall, 2nd left), Mon thru Fri., 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Trinity United Methodist Church, 4000 NW 53rd Ave. (Youth Building), Mon. thru Fri. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • University of Florida Law School, 2500 SW 2nd Ave. (Career Services Office, 2nd floor), Mon. thru Fri. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
