Affordable Housing Press Conference and Symposium

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - On Monday, August 4, Alachua County Commission Chairman Rodney J. Long will host a press conference to discuss the upcoming Alachua County Affordable Housing Symposium on August 13.  The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. in the Grace Knight conference room in the Alachua County Administration Building located at 12 S.E. 1st St., Gainesville, FL.  All media representatives are invited.
 
The Affordable Housing Symposium on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thomas Center's Spanish Court, located at 302 N.E. 6th Ave., Gainesville, FL.
 
The symposium will showcase information on the status of affordable housing in Alachua County, explore options to close the gap between needs and resources, and lay the foundation for the development of an Affordable Housing Strategic Plan.
 
The symposium will feature nationally recognized housing professionals representing the National Association of Home Builders, Freddie Mac, and the Miami-Dade Housing Finance Authority, as well as a panel of local housing providers.
