Ribbon Cutting for Fire Rescue Station 17

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Commission, the Department of Public Safety, and the Administrative Services Department, Facilities Division, invite the public and the media to the Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting of the Department of Public Safety Fire Rescue Station #17.  The event will take place on Friday August 7, 2009 at 6 p.m.  The station is located at 3509 NW 143 Street, Jonesville, next to Jonesville Park. 

This building is Alachua County's second green fire rescue station. 

The Master of Ceremonies for the event is Deputy County Manager Richelle M. Sucara.  Speakers include County Commissioner Paula M. DeLaney, Director of Public Safety Chief Will Gray May Jr., Fire Rescue Chief Ed Bailey, and County Facilities Manager Charlie R. Jackson. 

Refreshments, including hot dogs and hamburgers, will be served.  Activities will include the ribbon cutting, tours of the facility and equipment, and viewing of information displays highlighting the buildings benefit to the public and green features.
