Long appointed to NACo Board

The following is release on behalf of the National Association of Counties (NACo)

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. - National Association of Counties (NACo) President Valerie Brown has appointed Alachua County Commissioner Rodney Long as a member of NACo's Board of Directors and chair of a NACo subcommittee.

 

The appointment to the board is for two years and the appointment to the Community and Economic Development Steering Committee is for one year.  He will chair the steering committee's subcommittee on Economic Development.  

 

Brown made her appointments shortly after being installed as NACo president during the association's Annual Conference and Exposition in Nashville/Davidson County, Tenn.

The role of the board of directors is to manage the business and property of the association, determine NACo's mission as identified by the members, monitor NACo's success in fulfilling its mission, and ensure that NACo will be able to continue to fulfill its mission.

The Community and Economic Development Steering Committee is responsible for all matters pertaining to general community development and redevelopment; residential, commercial, and industrial development; housing programs; building and housing codes; subdivision regulation; and public works and economic development.

 

Long has been active in NACo since 2004.
