Commission Meeting includes Business and Economic Growth Action Plan

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct their twice-monthly Regular Meeting/Public Hearing on Tuesday December 9, 2014.  The Regular Meeting begins at 9 a.m. and the Public Hearing begins at 5 p.m.  Both meetings are in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street, downtown Gainesville.

Of special interest at this meeting is item 9. Presentation of the Business and Economic Growth Action Plan - The intent of the Business and Economic Growth Action Plan is to provide specific, actionable items that the County can do to facilitate economic development and improve the climate for starting and growing a business in Alachua County.

Item of interest at the Public Hearing include:
19. CPA-08-14: A request to amend the Future Land Use Map 2030 on approximately 8.5 acres of land from Medium Density Residential to Medium High Density Residential
21. ZOM-06-14: A request to rezone approximately 452 acres (Gainesville Raceway) from 'A' (Agriculture) district to non-residential 'PD' (Planned Development) district
