ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Alachua County is urging residents to avoid using the roads and to stay at home today. Driving conditions are hazardous. Numerous traffic lights are inoperative. There is a great deal of debris on our roads, such as fallen trees and limbs, that could be a danger to drivers. Downed power lines also pose a serious threat.

Significant numbers of residents are without power. There is still a possibility of severe weather as the sun comes up today.

The 311 Rumor Control phone number is now active. Please use it to verify the most up to the minute information on Hurricane Hermine. For life threatening emergencies call 911. For emergencies that are not life-threatening call 352-955-1818.
