HAPPYween Family Funday

Monday, October 24, 2016 3:30 PM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Community Support Services Office of Community Stabilization and the Florida Department of Children and Families have partnered together to host the “HAPPYween Family Funday” on Saturday, October 29, 2016. The event is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Depot Park (200 S.E. Depot Avenue, Gainesville Across from the Rosa Park Bus Depot).

The event connects families with local agencies, and organizations including law enforcement, emergency management services, County & City Fire Rescue services, health, waste management, housing, and employment services. Agencies will be available to assist citizens with questions that they may have and give referrals if needed.

Alachua County Community Stabilization Program Manager Marie Small said, “There are numerous services in our community that citizens are not aware of.” She continued, “Since there is no one location for information, it’s very important that we take services and information to our neighborhoods.”

This event includes Halloween activities for children such as face painting, pumpkins carving, a costume contest, and more. The event is a safe place for children to trick-or-treat.
