The City of High Springs has experienced a water line break in its distribution system, resulting in a loss of pressure to four city blocks. A precautionary boil water notice is in effect beginning December 15 until further notice for the following affected area:

North of HWY 441 West of County Road 236 South of NW 11 th Avenue East of NW 6 th Street

Residents of the City of High Springs who live in the affected area should use the one of the following strategies to ensure safe drinking water:

• Boil the water before use, holding it in a rolling boil for one minute.
• Disinfect it by adding 8 drops (1/8 teaspoon) of plain unscented household bleach per gallon of water, and then let it stand for 30 minutes. If the water is cloudy after 30 minutes, repeat the procedure .
• Use bottled water for drinking.

This City will rescind this precautionary boil water notice upon receipt of satisfactory bacteriological sampling results. Residents of the City of High Springs who have questions regarding this issue should call (386) 454-1416.
