Equine Management Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Extension Office is offering the following program:

Equine Management Workshop - March 9, 2010.  The workshop is being hosted by both the Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office and Seminole Feed.  This partnership will bring you the following topics at the University of Florida Horse Teaching Unit (directions listed below):

  • Saddle Fitting
  • Spring Pasture Management
  • Equine Nutrition for Spring

Dinner and sign-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. with lectures starting at 6 p.m. 

There is no charge for this workshop. Please RSVP by Friday March 5th, by calling the Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office at 352-955-2402.

To the Horse Teaching Unit:   From I-75 North or South:  Take exit 382 (old exit 74), Williston Road, and travel east to the first traffic light. Turn right (south) on SW 34th Street and proceed approximately 2 miles. (You will pass the Farm Bureau Building; go around a curve to the left, then about another mile.) The entrance to the farm is on the left and has a small blue "University of Florida - Horse Teaching Unit" sign in front. The driveway runs between two private homes and the covered arena is straight ahead. Park in the lot to the right just before the arena.
