Special Commission Meeting 11-15-11

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - On Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (room 209) of the County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street in Gainesville.

 

The two main agenda items: 

  • Eastside Community Redevelopment Area (CRA)

    The Board will receive a presentation and provide direction to staff regarding the establishment of the Eastside Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) around Eastside High School generally between Hawthorne Road and East University Avenue.

    This presentation is part of the process to establish the CRA, which is an area where revitalization is promoted through investments in community improvements to enhance quality of life and economic development.

    The Board of County Commissioners will decide whether to direct staff to proceed with preparing the resolutions, ordinances, and documents for the required public hearings to create the Community Redevelopment Agency that will draft the CRA Redevelopment Plan.

  • Election of Board of County Commission Officers for the Year 2011-2012 (1:30 p.m. time certain)

    Commission Clerk J.K. Irby will preside over the election of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Commission for Fiscal Year 2011-2012.
