The Great American Cleanup
Be part of this national effort to Keep America Beautiful. Clean up your neighborhood, plant a tree or flowers, paint a fence, or join others in a community project. Call Keep Alachua County Beautiful at (352)371-9444 to report your project or ask to be assigned a project.

The Earth Machine Truckload Sale
The Earth Machine Truckload Sale will be held on Saturday, March 18 in the parking lot in front of Home Depot, off of Newberry Road and Tower Road. The sale will be from 8 am - 4 pm, on a first-come, first-served basis. Earth Machines will be sold for $30 each, which includes sales tax; cash and checks accepted. The Earth Machine is an enclosed black recycled plastic composter. Put your yard trimmings and kitchen scraps in to decompose, and after several months you'll have a nutritious soil amendment for your garden or landscaping.

Kanapaha Spring Garden Festival
Join the Waste Watchers for composting information - and free wire compost bins. Compost Kid will be there to entertain the kids, and you’ll find plants galore, food, fun and music at the 16th Annual Spring Garden Festival, North Florida's premier gardening event with over 200 booths featuring plants & garden merchandise, landscape displays, seminars, live and silent auctions, children's activity area, arts & crafts, educational exhibits, walk-through butterfly house, live entertainment, and food. This year's special guest speaker is Felder Rushing, nationally known garden expert, author, lecturer, and humorist. Felder will present seminars on two different topics each day. The seminars promise to be informative as well as entertaining.
Hours: Saturday, March 25 9 am - 6pm; Sunday, March 26 10am - 5pm
Admission Fees: $5 per Adult, $3 per Child 6-13, Under 6 Free
Free shuttle parking from Kanapaha Park and Kanapaha Middle school on Tower Road.
No pets please!
