ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Emergency Management invites residents to participate in a "Preparing for Weather Crisis" Lincoln Estates Neighborhood Workshop at the Alachua County Health Department Conference Room (224 Southeast 24th Street, Gainesville), on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This workshop is free to attend and refreshments will be served.

This workshop is being held to discuss weather warning services and enroll participants in the County's CodeRED weather warning system. Guest speakers at the event include WCJB TV-20 Meteorologist, Mike Gismondi, Alachua County Emergency Management Assistant Director, Jeff Bielling, and members of the Gainesville Police Advisory Committee.

The CodeRED system allows Alachua County to telephone all or targeted areas of the County in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action, such as an evacuation, contaminated water, hazardous chemical spill, etc.
