​​PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

The Alachua County Department of Public Works provides stewardship of assigned county-owned infrastructure and equipment, and works with the community to support growth that balances environmental, social and community development.

The Engineering & Operations Department of Alachua County Public Works has six functional divisions: Development Review, Transportation Engineering, Road & Bridge, Construction Inspections, Survey & Real Property, and Fleet Management.

To apply for Right-of-Way use or utility, Right-of-Way connection (driveway permit), flood zone, construction or development projects please visit the Alachua County Online Permitting Portal.

From here you can apply for new permits, manage existing permits, make online payments, schedule inspections, and search for permit records.

REPORTING COUNTY-MAINTAINED ROAD & RIGHT-OF-WAY ISSUES

For any issues concerning a County-maintained road or right-of-way such as: potholes, STOP sign down, dead animal in the road, tree limb down, roadside drop-off, clogged culvert, sight distance problem, etc.

Please email rbmaintenance@alachuacounty.us or call (352)548-1215 and report the issue.

You will need to provide your name, phone number, location of the issue, and a brief description of the problem.

MEMORIAL MARKER PROGRAM
MEMORIAL MARKER PROGRAM

In order control activities within the County right-of-way and increase public awareness in regards to highway safety, the Public Works Department has established the Memorial Marker Program to commemorate those who have died as a result of a vehicle related accident on the County Road System.
