Did you know that when you turn on the tap or sprinkler, you are using the same groundwater that replenishes our springs and rivers? Our daily actions can have a great impact on the water resources we all treasure. This page provides some simple ways to do our part to conserve water for our beloved springs and rivers and future generations.

Conserving Water Indoors

Leaks or drippy fixtures can waste a ton of water and cost $$$. Here are some easy ways to conserve water. You can contact us at 352-264-6800 to request a toilet dye tab to check for toilet leaks.

Conserving Water Outdoors

Almost 60% of residential water use occurs outdoors, so it’s important to check your irrigation system regularly for leaks and wasteful practices. New irrigation systems and additions to existing systems must comply with the County’s Irrigation Design Standards. Don’t forget that irrigation restrictions are the law and are enforced year round. Better yet, turn the system off and water only as needed.
