The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 6 p.m. This is a hybrid meeting. The public may attend and participate (offer comments) in this meeting virtually and in-person.
The public who attend in-person must wear a facial covering at all times. Public seating will be made available up to the capacity that permits adequate social distancing.

No later than five calendar days prior to the hearing, an individual or entity wishing to participate as a party in a quasi-judicial public hearing must provide the County with a written request to be considered as a party. The request must include a factual basis for why the requestor believes that he or she should be allowed to participate as a party. Please send requests to be considered a party to
planning@alachuacounty.us.
The Planning Commission shall consider written requests for party status at the outset of the Hearing and make a determination of which requesting individuals or entities qualify for party status in the hearing.
If an individual or entity intends to participate as a party and provide evidence, beyond testimony, at the public hearing, the individual or entity must provide electronic copies of all evidence to the appropriate County staff no later than three calendar days prior to the hearing. Any evidence provided electronically will be entered into the record and provided to all identified parties.
All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. Written comments or photographic documents may be emailed to Planning Commission staff ahead of the scheduled hearing at
planning@alachuacounty.us. The public will be permitted to provide public comments at the hearing to the Planning Commission through telephone or in person.

Callers will be put in a queue, and prompted when it is their turn to speak. TO AVOID FEEDBACK, SPEAKERS MUST TURN DOWN THE VOLUME ON THEIR DEVICE WHEN ADDRESSING THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE. When prompted for in-person comment, in-person participants should follow the direction of the Chair to participate.
Item for the Planning Commission Meeting:
CPA-06-20 (Gainesville Gateway Small Scale Land Use and Text Amendment) – This is a request by Clay Sweger of eda consultants, inc., agent, for Florida Gateway Real Estate LLC, owner, for a small-scale land use amendment from Tourist-Entertainment to Commercial on approximately 5.14 acres on tax parcels 06233-006-000 and 06233-006-001, located at 9775 N.W. 39th Avenue. The proposed small-scale plan amendment, if approved, would amend the land use on these parcels, located on the south side of 39th Avenue west of I-75, to Commercial. This would allow for a variety of uses as permitted in the Business Highway (BH) zoning district, which already exists on these properties. Staff are also proposing the elimination of Comprehensive Plan policies found in the Springhills Activity Center related to these parcels in order to implement the new land use designations.
