Alachua County Community Support Services' Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center invites the community to attend the 2018 Survivors of Violence Art Exhibit at the Civic Media Center (433 S. Main St, Gainesville) from Friday, March 30, to Thursday, April 5, 2018. An opening reception is on Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m. at the Civic Media Center, and features speakers and live performance art pieces. The exhibit and receptions are free and open to the public.
The art exhibit features original artwork created by victims and survivors of interpersonal violence.
“Creating art can be a very personal outlet for survivors of violence,” said Alachua County Sexual Assault Program Manager Jessie Lazarchik. “Survivors who feel empowered to share their art with the community often find that it takes their healing to the next level.”
