3-22-22 County Commission Regular Meeting

The Alachua County Commission will conduct a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville). The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. The evening portion of the meeting is canceled.

Masks are strongly encouraged when social distancing is not possible. The public may view the meeting on Cox Channel 12 and the County’s Video on Demand website.

The Commissions will take public comment in person only. There are multiple opportunities for public comment throughout the meeting. Public comment will be taken for each agenda item and the public will also have an opportunity to speak about items not on the agenda at noon and 5:30 p.m. (when an evening portion of the meeting is scheduled). Members of the public who wish to speak are asked to limit their comments to three minutes.

  • Approval of a Proclamation declaring March 20, 2022, as “Gainesville Chapter of the Daughters American Revolution 100th Anniversary Day” in Alachua County, Florida
  • Approval of a Proclamation declaring April 2022 as “Water Conservation Month” in Alachua County, Florida
  • Approval of a Proclamation declaring April 2022 as “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in Alachua County, Florida
  • Resolution supporting the LGBTQ+ community and opposing the Don’t Say Gay Bill
  • Local Planning Agency/Planning Commission vacancy appointment
  • Select artist for Fire Station 40 mural
  • Housing protections for victims of intimate partner violence.
  • Employee mid-year compensation increase
  • Local Government Infrastructure Sales Surtax for Wild Spaces Public Places, Road Repair, Fire Stations and Public Facilities, Economic Development, and Affordable Housing
  • Lochloosa Creek Flatwoods - Brown Option Contract to Purchase Real Property
