The Alachua County Youth Fair and Livestock Show Association is pleased to announce the upcoming 2021 Alachua County Youth Fair and Livestock Show. The event is from March 5, through March 9, 2021, at the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center (23100 W. Newberry Road, Newberry). The event is free.
This is the first year that the fair is at the new facility. This year, due to COVID-19, the non-livestock exhibits are virtual. However, the livestock projects will exhibit and show. Also, there will be a live stream of the livestock show and sale (for those spectators and family that do not feel comfortable attending in person). The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center will take place on Saturday, March 6, at 5:45 p.m. The fair is an educational platform for the youth in Alachua County who are interested in agriculture.
“The youth fair benefits agriculture and the local community by providing an educational opportunity for youth to learn about production agriculture,” said UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Director Dr. Cindy Sanders. “Working with livestock and other agriculture events through the youth fair prepares future citizens of Alachua County to be knowledgeable about agriculture production and land use. This benefits Alachua County by providing citizens the opportunity to see our 4-H & FFA youth projects.”
CDC guidelines will be implemented with all exhibitors and spectators wearing masks and social distancing.
