Animal Services Closing for Training

The Alachua County Animal Services shelter will be closed to the public due to scheduled training this Friday, June 11, and Saturday, June 12, 2021.  The shelter will resume its regular schedule the following week on Tuesday, June 15.

During this time, Animal Services Officers will continue to respond, as they do 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, to matters affecting public safety and animals in immediate danger.  Citizens should dial 911 to report such emergencies on Sundays, holidays, and between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. nightly.  During regular hours (Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays), the in-house Animal Services officer dispatch can be reached at 352-264-6870, option 1.

Visit the Animal Services website to see the selection of shelter pets awaiting adoption. The website also has information on fostering and other volunteer opportunities.  The Alachua County Animal Services shelter is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
