Other than essential services, all Alachua County offices will be closed on Friday, June 18, 2021, in observance of Juneteenth.
Residential curbside collection services for solid waste, recycling, and yard trash will not be affected by the holiday.
The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers, the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station, and the Hazardous Waste Collection Center will also not be affected by the holiday.

Alachua County Animal Services Offices and shelter will be closed on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in observance of Juneteenth. They will be open during regular hours on Friday, June 18.
During this time, Animal Services Officers will continue to respond, as they do 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, to matters affecting public safety and animals in immediate danger. Citizens should dial 911 to report such emergencies on Sundays, holidays, and between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. nightly. During regular hours (Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays), the in-house Animal Services officer dispatch can be reached at 352-264-6870, option 1.

Animal Services website to see the selection of shelter pets awaiting adoption. The website also has information on fostering and other volunteer opportunities. The Alachua County Animal Services shelter is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
